Someday I will draw someone who is making eye contact with me. Maybe.

Oro Making a Sock Squirrel
Art abounds at the Chateau de FuFu (our apartment) this week because not only are my housemates super artsy, but we have a house guest this week! She is Katherine, one of the Bread and Puppet Puppeteers and is in town because Bread and Puppet is putting on performances at Cyclorama here in Boston all week! Katherine is lovely and wonderful and is filling our kitchen with linoleum block prints for the cheap art bus! The other night while she was making prints, My housemate Oro/Kat (she goes by either) was sewing a stuffed squirrel made of socks and I was making a charcoal sketch of her! Ta DA!

More Charlie Card Portraits
YES! I have found the charlie card sketches that I lost in my grand move down the hallway, plus I did more yesterday. I am experimenting with doing tiny scenes vs. just faces. In this first one, I was just so enamored of this guy's giant, fuzzy hat with ears. We ended up getting out at the same stop and he asked me how it turned out. I showed him his portrait and told him about my sneaky charlie card portrait project and he, as he lit his cigarette, informed me that I would have to be sneakier. What an awesome human being.
I like some better than others, but my theory is: just make a lot of work and inevitably some of it will be good. Oh yes, and this last one that I will post was actually not a T rider, but rather a Greek statue from the MFA. I did this one just to see how my pen worked on the charlie card. It's kinda fun, right?
By the way,
This is my 50th post!
Hooray!

Accio Sketchbook
This is my most recent sketch of a friend who was patient enough to hold still for the better part of an hour so that I could draw him. I am quite pleased with how it turned out:
And on a sort-of related note, perhaps you are familiar with the art student owl meme? I came across this one this morning and it just seemed so appropriate. And, as always, I was tickled by the Harry Potter reference:

MBTA Portraits
I wrote in a recent post that I am starting a project in which I collect Charlie Cards (the tickets you use to get onto Boston's subways, busses, and water taxis), and stealthily draw people on the public transit.
Well, I have been drawing many portraits, but I can't find them at the moment because I just moved into a new room (same house though) and forgot where I put them. What I do have are the most recent three I drew. More to come!

Boston Nightscapes
I apologize for not posting for so long! I have been busily at work on many art projects but have not finished any until these two most recent paintings. Here you are! Two nightscapes from my new neighborhood in Boston:
